I had planned on posting this on Saturday, but my server was down all weekend! Ack! But I wanted to show some of the things that are growing in the garden we started six weeks ago. In case you missed it, I posted a step-by-step tutorial on how to make a raised garden bed.
Though it was easy to build the garden boxes, it took some work planning out exactly what we would plant in our garden. It was worth the effort and research, though, because we have been enjoying fresh vegetables at lunch and dinner, and I have made many, MANY loaves of delicious zucchini bread thus far! All this just mere weeks after initially planting our tiny little starters!
Tonight, it couldn’t feel more like summer having enjoyed the just barely-picked yellow squash along with our corn and steak. It was amazing. Best of all, the kids get very excited to eat the veggies from the garden, whereas they would have either hesitated or refused in the past.
This is what is currently growing in our garden!
Outside the Garden:
Outside of our raised garden beds, we have a few other things growing that we love to pick!
Did your family plant a garden this spring? If so, please let me know in the comments below what you planted!
